The Value of Life

by

The Value of Life follows a hard-working young man who does neighborly tasks to build an allowance for what seems to be a big purchase. We watch him complete tasks a feeling of encouragement is evoked, and the audience wants him to get his money. Then, the camera cuts and shows the man’s money on fire, after he has already lit it himself, leaving the viewer to ask why? The Value of Life compares materialistic money to somebody’s life. The man works hard to make money and subsequently wastes it, similar to how one would work hard to thrive in life and promptly waste it through suicide, means that leave the witness to ask why?
