Mataba is about a grandson and a grandma greeting each other at a family gathering. The grandma asks questions about his life, and makes a comment about his weight – then tells him to go eat more. While getting food, the grandma makes comments about him, while the grandson contemplates his decisions about the amount of food he is grabbing. Worried about what his grandma will say, his grandma ends up telling him that eating and being fuller-bodied is a good thing.
