This entry reflects on the cultural barriers that children of Hispanic/Latin American may encounter when speaking of mental health. Sometimes, Hispanic/Latin American parents will dissmiss, undermine, or ignore their children’s signs of mental illness due to cultural biases and stereotypes. The video follows a group of friends that discuss a mental health presentation; though most of the friend group chats comfortably about it, one of the friends find she cannot relate to their open-mindedness, as her family does not discuss mental health.
