The Weight of the Sand shows a high school students’ day to day school life. It depicts the growing pressures that take a toll on a student’s mental health. We used the metaphor of sand to represent the way we can forgot that the little things could have a big impact and build up and eventually slip through the cracks if we forget to take care of ourselves. In the end, the student receives help from a friend, showing that is it okay to accept help in carrying the weight of the sand.
