Nai Nai

Last year, I lost my grandmother who raised me from birth. I made this film to turn pain into beauty, and to give others hope that even from loss, you can create something that is love.

“Nai Nai” is my ode to my grandmother, who had only a 2nd grade education, yet ran her own restaurant and taught me a hero is someone who does the right thing in the dark. Although our relationship was both love and lightning, I made this film as a tribute to her love because the road to joy comes from learning to turn pain into beauty.
