On Harnessing Your Weevily Doubts

by

“On Harnessing Your Weevily Doubts” is a short film I made about how art gives me hope because it helps me climb out of the dark holes I find myself in due to a lack of serotonin in my brain. I am grateful to my friend from elementary school who encouraged me to become a better artist, so I made this film to encourage my peers that they can be creative too by simply practicing enough. It’s not true that you need to be born artistic to be an artist!

Another hope-creating thing I’d like to share is that you shouldn’t stop doing something just because you’re not good at it yet if it makes you happy. My film is also about how I find hope by wrestling with the Weevil of Doubts in my head, which prevents me from being more productive by saying mean things such as “You’re not good enough. Everyone’s disappointed in you,” which is basically just me lying to myself.
