Self Reflection is a short film suicide prevention. It talks about the internal battles that teens face in silence. The story takes place in a bedroom, where the boy feels lonely, isolated, and faces pressure with his academics. He talks to a therapist, to only be himself revealing that the whole conversation is just self reflecting.

As the story unfolds he starts to open up more about his best friend moving away, his family neglecting him, and just being alone overwhelmed at school. When he is asked if he wants to commit suicide, the emotional weight of that question shifts from light to dark lighting, symbolizing how your emotions can change when alone.

Through the conversation the therapist helped him understand that the feeling of loneliness and emptiness won’t last forever. The film emphasizes that no matter what you feel it’s temporary and that it won’t affect you forever. Besides giving into despair he instead reaches for help looking up suicidal hotline. Showing that asking for help is a form of strength not weakness.
